Mitchell Six-County Regional Partnership Demographics

The Mitchell Six-County Region is located in the the middle of North America; the geographic transition between America's Midwest and West. To the east is rich, abundance Midwestern farmland stretching like a quilt across the rolling plains. To the west the magnificent Missouri River opens the door to what is rich with heritage and legends. The six counties in the Partnership are Aurora, Davison, Douglas, Hanson, Hutchinson, and Sanborn.

Mitchell Six-County Regional Partnership Higher Education

Just over twenty years ago the state of South Dakota recognized the economic development potential that would emerge if resources were directed toward developing a highly educated information technology workforce.To this end, Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota, reinvented itself from primarily a teacher education college to a recognized leader in the education of IT professionals. Students can choose from a number of undergraduate and graduate IT programs and starting in the Fall of 2006, a Doctor of Science in Information Systems.

Innovative and challenging academic programs - Every one of DSU's majors provide students with a foundation in technology. They can study in the fields of computer information systems and computer science, business, teacher education, arts and sciences with a number of unique degree programs including scientific forensic technology, digital arts and design or computer and network security.
