State Technical Institute
Some of the most sophisticated technology available is located on the campus of Mitchell Technical Institute. Each year, MTI is supported with hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment contributions by some of the most highly recognizable names in industry. Programs in five occupational areas: Business, Trade and Technology, Health Services, Food Services and Agriculture, have excellent reputations.
College/University
Dakota Wesleyan University is a four-year private liberal arts university. DWU offers majors in 23 areas of study and minors in 26 areas. Pre-professional programs are available in law, medical / health arts professions, physical therapy and theology. A Master of Arts degree in education is also offered.

Health Facilities
| Avera Queen of Peace consists of several medical facilities dedicated to providing health care for Mitchell and the surrounding counties. The newest addition to the medical center is the Avera Queen of Peace Cancer Center. The center employs over 700 people and receives help from over 150 volunteers. The hospital has some of the regions most advanced medical technology. |
